Pointro Campground – Visitor Information & Rules
Welcome to Pointro Campground. To protect this beautiful environment and ensure we comply with our licence agreement with SEQ Water, all visitors must follow the rules below. Breaches may result in SEQ Water fines, which will be passed on to the responsible party.
General Rules
- No dogs allowed.
- No smoking anywhere on the property.
- No trail bikes.
- No excessive noise; quiet hours begin at 10:00pm.
- No travelling in the back of boats, trailers, jet skis being towed, or in the back of utes.
- Report all damage, incidents, or hazards immediately.

Check-in: 1:00pm–6:00pm
Check-out: 10:00am
Licensed Area Rules
The licensed area is the land between the Pointro boundary and the water’s edge. The following rules help maintain our licence obligations with SEQ Water:
Vehicle Access & Parking
- Only one designated launching area is available for tinnies, jet skis, canoes, and similar craft (located below the camping area).
- Vehicles must remain on the designated track at all times.
- Vehicles are not permitted to drive or park anywhere within 20 metres of the water’s edge.
- Vehicles are not permitted to drive down to the boat ramp.
- After launching a boat or jet ski, vehicles and trailers must be moved immediately back up the hill and parked inside the Pointro boundary.
Structures
- Marquees, gazebos, and shade structures must be placed at least 6 metres from the water’s edge.
Watercraft
- Watercraft may be moored during the day only.
- All boats must be removed from the water overnight.
Swimming
- Swimming is not permitted. Lake Maroon has no designated swimming areas.
Environmental & Safety Compliance
Pointro Campground operates under a licence with SEQ Water. Visitors must help protect the environment by:
- Staying out of fenced-off restoration or revegetation areas.
- Keeping the shoreline clear and undisturbed.
- Following all staff directions and posted signage.
Consequences of Non-Compliance
SEQ Water may issue fines for any breaches of licence conditions. These fines will be passed on to the individual or group responsible.
