Reading the Biblical Languages (RBL) is a sequel to our foundational unit, Introduction to Biblical Languages (IBL).
The group meets online via Zoom every Monday from 4.00 pm to 5.30 pm. Sessions will alternate between Hebrew and Greek each week.
On Hebrew weeks, we will work with a short passage drawn from the Old Testament reading or Psalm appointed for the following Sunday.
On Greek weeks, we will focus on a passage from the Epistle or Gospel reading appointed for the following Sunday.
Participants are not expected to attend every week and are welcome to join whenever they are able.
We will commence on Monday 23 November with a short Advent series before breaking for Christmas and New Year. Sessions resume on Monday 11 January.
Prior to each session, participants will receive supporting material to assist with preparation and reading of the biblical text. The aim is to keep the sessions accessible, enjoyable, and practical while maintaining and developing skills in Biblical Hebrew and Greek.
If you have previously studied Biblical Hebrew or New Testament Greek, we warmly invite you to join us. Please also share this opportunity with friends and colleagues who may be interested.
We hope you will be able to join us, whether regularly or occasionally, as we read the Scriptures together in their original languages and prepare for worship in the weeks ahead.
