Personal Enrichment Program
The ‘Personal Enrichment Program’ (PEP), (also known as ‘auditing’), means a person can sit in on lectures and participate at little cost, but without receiving a mark or any academic credit at the end.
The PEP is an opportunity for those not seeking a tertiary qualification, to nevertheless study at that tertiary level, to deepen their knowledge and appreciation of the Christian faith. It is particularly apposite for clergy seeking to keep up to date with current scholarship in a particular theological field and for lay people, for whom local bible studies are not enough.
A person interested in the PEP program may draw up a list of preferred subjects to study and so have a Study Plan, or may study as and when subjects of interest become available.
The PEP program costs $300 per subject (from 2022).
Lecturers can choose how many PEP students they have in their class.
Lecturers can choose whether to assess a PEP student’s work.
PEP students with little theological academic background are encouraged to begin with 100 level subjects. If a PEP student wants to audit a 200 or higher level subject they must speak to the lecturer first of all to make sure they can manage the higher level of study required.
PEP students should note that not all on-line material (articles, book chapters, etc) is available to them. However, much material is available through our Roscoe Library and some other material can be made available as long as copyright is not infringed.
Those wanting to study a number of subjects as part of the PEP program may wish to draw up a Study Plan with one of the lecturing staff.
