Four Year Formation course for those seeking to be a Spiritual Director

Our formation program combines both theoretical and practical studies within a contemplative learning environment. We use the contemplative/evocative model of spiritual direction, which focuses on:

  • Integrating a contemplative stance in students

  • Encouraging students to adopt a contemplative approach with their directees

This model is designed to evoke personal and spiritual growth in students, which then positively impacts their directees.

Course Structure and Delivery

Our four-year part-time study program includes:

  • 216 hours of contemplative learning - theory

  • 134 hours contemplative learning - practice in supervised triads

  • 30 hours of individual spiritual direction

The course is delivered through two intensive sessions each year.
