About

Hello, and welcome to a short introduction on a new unit being offered at the University of Divinity through St Francis Theological College in Brisbane.

The course, called Introduction to Preaching, is a first year subject tailored for both undergraduate and graduate students of theology.

Through the semester students will be exploring the history of Christian preaching and becoming familiar with contemporary biblical interpretation. Engagement with biblical texts and personal reflection on the connection with contemporary concerns for Christ followers will be a regular feature of the semester schedule, as well as the art of practical communication with hearers, including voice, posture and delivery.

The course co-ordinator Reverend Dr Ceri Wynne is a parish priest of an inner city Anglican parish in Brisbane. Ceri is a keen participant in the preaching life with its liturgical rhythm and in the challenge of proclaiming the good news with a community of Christ followers.
