In an Instagram ready, sound bite culture like ours where we're told that people's brains have been rewired and we only have a two-minute attention span, it is easy to stop believing in preaching. The aim of this workshop which you will (hopefully!) be challenging, stimulating and enjoyable is to put hearts back into preaching and to explore the craft of the spoken word and the tricks of the oratorical trade.

About The Most Revd Stephen Cottrell
Stephen Cottrell is the 98th Archbishop of York and a member of the House of Lords. Prior to his appointment as Archbishop, he served as Bishop of Chelmsford, Bishop of Reading, Canon Pastor of Peterborough Cathedral, and Diocesan Missioner for the Diocese of Wakefield. Earlier in his ministry, he served in parishes in South London and Chichester.
A widely respected writer and speaker on evangelism, spirituality, and catechesis, Archbishop Stephen is the author of numerous books. His most recent titles, Praying by Heart: The Lord’s Prayer for Everyone and The Lord’s Prayer: A Beginner’s Guide, explore how the Lord’s Prayer offers both a pattern for prayer and a pattern for life.
He is married to Rebecca, a potter. Together they have three sons, two grandchildren, and a dog.
